Looking for a unique way to experience the beautiful and peaceful Amish Countryside of Lancaster County? An adventure awaits with a Hot Air Balloon Ride that offers the best birds-eye view of south central Pennsylvania. A whole new perspective awaits from the open gondola below a colorful balloon. The ride is absolutely exhilarating from lift off to floating above the landscape to touch down.
Your Hot Air Balloon Ride pilot will guide you over quilt patterned Amish farmland where you can see farmers working their fields. You’ll pass over quaint towns like Ephrata, Strasburg, New Holland, and Intercourse. On a clear day, you can even see the headwaters of the Chesapeake Bay.
The United States Hot Air Balloon Team offers rides daily at sunrise (6 am) and sunset (6 pm) and take off from Bird-in-Hand about 25 minutes from the B. F. Hiestand House Bed & Breakfast. Plan on spending about 2.5 to 3 hours from start to finish. You are invited to participate in the pre-flight preparations and can watch the balloon inflate. The flight is about one hour in duration and post-flight offers time to relax and share your experience while sipping champagne and enjoying snacks.
Private flights are available to celebrate that special birthday, anniversary or engagement. For more information about rates and times, please click here (www.balloonridesdaily.com) or call 1-800-763-5987.
