The Sight & Sound Theatre in Lancaster has been bringing the Bible to life on stage for 40 years. From humble beginnings as a simple slide show of scenic landscape photographs, Sight & Sound has grown into a majestic theatre with a team of creators that produces elaborate live stage productions with original scripts and musical scores. Year after year, audiences flock to this grand 2,000-seat auditorium to watch some of the Bible's most compelling stories come to life.
From initial concept to final rehearsals, it takes three and a half years to develop a Sight & Sound show. The scale of each production is immense. The stage itself is 300 feet and surrounds the audience on three sides. A cast of 50 actors, state-of-the-art technology and live animals all work in glorious harmony to create each awe-inspiring show. All of the elements seamlessly and magnificently come together to transport audiences back in time.
Sight & Sound is getting ready to open the curtain on its newest show, DAVID. This biblical story relates the life of David, from poet and songwriter to warrior and king. Most of all, it conveys David's journey to becoming a man after God's own heart. The show features masterfully performed original music inspired by the Psalms. DAVID will run from March 12 through the end of 2022, and B.F. Hiestand House guests can receive discounted tickets for the show by calling our B&B.
Because each show takes years to develop, Sight & Sound is already working on its 2023 shows. MOSES will run from March 10 to October 7, 2023. This epic story will take audiences from the banks of the Nile River to the depths of the Red Sea. Journey with Moses as he ventures through the wilderness encounters God at the burning bush and ascends to the top of Mount Sinai. All of it is brought to life as only Sight & Sound can do.
For the 2023 holiday season, Sight & Sound will bring audiences the MIRACLE OF CHRISTMAS from November 4 to December 30, 2023. Watch in awe as the story of Christmas unfolds before your eyes. Travel back in time as Mary and Joseph make their way to Bethlehem. A mesmerizing spectacle of shepherds, wise men, angels and camels(!) will have all rejoicing the newborn king in this cherished holiday production.
